🐄 Welcome to the Gippsland Jersey family, Ainsley & Mick Seuren. 💛
🐄 Welcome to the Gippsland Jersey family, Ainsley & Mick Seuren. 💛
Today we’re incredibly proud to introduce our fifth Gippsland Jersey supplier farm.
Based in Lang Lang, Ainsley and Mick milk a beautiful herd of Jersey cows through their 48-unit rotary dairy, milking twice a day and continually looking for ways to improve the health and wellbeing of their animals and the quality of their milk.
What drew them to dairy farming?
Simply put - a love of animals and the outdoors.
For Mick and Ainsley, one of the most rewarding parts of farming is breeding healthy, strong calves and watching them grow into cows that will one day produce quality milk for Australian families.
This year they’re taking on a new challenge, calving four times a year in one-week blocks.
“It’s our first year doing this, so watch this space!” 😂
When asked why they wanted to join Gippsland Jersey, Ainsley said:
“We’ve been watching from the sidelines for some time now. Coming on board was easy because we both feel very strongly about the three core values Gippsland Jersey was founded on.”
There was also a personal connection.
“I felt a strong connection to Sallie’s story about losing her father. I lost my brother to suicide more than 20 years ago. Kindness is free and we should sprinkle that everywhere.” ❤️
From a Gippsland Jersey perspective, this relationship didn’t start today.
We first met the Seuren family back in 2020 when Sallie visited their farm to photograph Mick’s son Jake for the 2021 Gippsland Jersey Farmer Mental Health Calendar.
What started as a calendar story grew into a friendship.
Over the years we’ve watched Mick, Ainsley and their blended family quietly get on with the job - working hard, raising great kids, caring for their animals and continually investing in their farm and future.
When we were building our brew room in Lakes Entrance factory, Mick and Ainsley and some of their kids rolled up their sleeves and helped make it happen. They built a special concrete bench that still sits at the heart of that space today. It’s become a bench that has hosted many conversations and has a feeling of ‘home’.
That’s who these guys are.
Mick & Ains are practical, can-do people who simply get things done.
And Ainsley is an absolute powerhouse in her own right. Alongside helping Mick run the dairy farm, she operates her own on-farm cake kitchen, Just Eat The Cake, creating beautiful custom cakes.
The thing that stands out most about the Seurens is how hardworking they are.
They’re genuine workers.
Their whole family pitches in. They’re not afraid of early mornings, late nights or rolling up their sleeves when something needs doing.
We also love the way they’re approaching farming.
They’re always looking for ways to improve the health of their animals and the health of their soil. From heaters in the calf shed, to using raw honey to support calves, to biological fertilisers and practices that improve soil health, they’re constantly asking the question:
“How can we do this better?”
That’s exactly the kind of curiosity and care we look for in farmers to supply the factory.
As demand for Gippsland Jersey continues to grow, we need more great Jersey milk.
But more importantly, we need great people.
People who care deeply about their animals.
People who care about their land.
People who care about their community.
People who believe kindness matters.
The Seuren family are exactly those people.
Every bottle of Gippsland Jersey milk starts with a farming family trusting us with the milk they’ve worked so hard to produce.
We’re incredibly grateful that Mick, Ainsley have chosen to join ours.
Please join us in giving Gippsland Jersey supplier family number five a very warm welcome. 🥛🐄💛
